What Is a Psychological Evaluation for Immigration?

If you're navigating an immigration case, the journey can feel overwhelming. A psychological evaluation offers the opportunity to document your mental health history and emotional experience in a way that supports your legal process with care and clarity.

I provide comprehensive, trauma-informed assessments that meet professional and legal standards. My approach is respectful, culturally sensitive, and grounded in clinical best practices. The goal is to ensure your story is documented thoughtfully and thoroughly, in a format that aligns with the needs of your legal team.

Services are offered virtually or in Person for individuals residing in New York, with assessments available in English and Spanish.

Types of Evaluations Offered:

  • Extreme Hardship Waivers (I-601 / I-601A): Evaluations that explore the emotional and psychological impact a U.S. citizen or permanent resident would face if separated from a family member seeking legal status.

  • Asylum: Assessments that document the mental health effects of past persecution or trauma in the person’s country of origin, supporting their claim for protection and safety in the U.S.

  • Violence Against Women Act (VAWA): Evaluations for individuals who have experienced abuse by a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident spouse or family member, highlighting the psychological impact of the abuse.

  • U Visa: Psychological reports for individuals who have been victims of certain crimes in the U.S. and who have cooperated with law enforcement, emphasizing the emotional consequences of the crime.
