How Can I Support You
Individual Therapy
Whether you're navigating the pressure of being the strong one in your family or going through an immigration process that requires psychological documentation, my work is rooted in compassion, cultural understanding, and trauma-informed care.
Sessions are available virtually throughout New York State in English and Spanish.
For first-generation eldest daughters carrying a lot for everyone else.
You may be used to being the responsible one, the one who keeps everything together for your family while trying to build a life of your own.
Over time, that pressure can show up as anxiety, burnout, guilt, or the feeling that you always have to be strong.
Therapy is a space where you don’t have to carry it alone.
In our work together, we focus on helping you:
Understand patterns shaped by family expectations and life experiences
Manage anxiety, overwhelm, and emotional burnout
Reconnect with your needs, boundaries, and identity
Build tools that support your mental, emotional, and physical well-being
My approach is trauma-informed, culturally aware, and grounded in nervous system regulation.
Sessions move at your pace and are designed to support lasting change, not quick fixes.
My Approach
Therapy that honors your story, your culture, and your pace.
Safe Place to Be Honest
You don’t have to filter your feelings or pretend everything is fine. Therapy is a space where you can speak openly and feel supported without judgment.
Collaborate Openly
You’re part of the process. We keep communication open and decisions shared—no black boxes or surprises.
Working with the Whole You
My approach is trauma-informed and holistic, recognizing the connection between emotional, mental, and physical well-being.
Moving Forward with Support
Therapy is not about fixing you. It’s about helping you develop insight, tools, and confidence so you can move through life with more clarity and balance.
Your Support System
Jennifer Ruiz Blandon, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over a decade of experience supporting adults navigating trauma, anxiety, burnout, and major life transitions.
As a first-generation eldest daughter of Colombian parents, I understand the balance many of my clients carry, honoring family, culture, and responsibility while also trying to build a life that feels authentic and sustainable.
In our work together, we explore how past experiences may still be shaping the way you think, feel, and respond to stress today. My approach is trauma-informed and holistic, recognizing that life experiences live not only in our memories but also in our bodies and patterns.
I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, relational therapy, somatic (body-based) awareness, nervous system regulation, and mindfulness practices to support your healing and growth.
My goal isn’t to “fix” you. It’s to create a space where you can better understand yourself, reconnect with your needs and boundaries, and move forward with greater clarity and self-trust.
