Everyday Tools for Emotional Regulation

A Note from Jennifer

I’m so glad you joined me for the Everyday Tools for Emotional Regulation workshop at the Westchester Children’s Museum. This page is just for you - a place to revisit the simple tools we practiced together.

These strategies are designed to support wellness in the moment. They’re not a substitute for therapy, but they can help you shift back towards calm during a busy or stressful day.

Your Quick Calm Guide

Inside: Box Breathing, 5-4-3-2-1 Grounding, and a Movement Reset.

30 second tools for busy moments.

Remember the Traffic Light

🟢 Green = calm, steady

🟡 Yellow = stressed but managing

🔴 Red = overwhelmed, at capacity

These tools can help you shift from 🔴 to 🟡 and back toward 🟢

Keep in Touch

If you try one of these tools this week, I’d love to hear how it went- whether it helped, felt awkward, or you’re still figuring it out. Email therapy@jenniferruizblandon.com with ‘Quick Calm Guide’ in the subject line.

Thank you again for your participation. It was an honor to share this time and these tools with you. May they support you in both your work and your daily life. Remember that even 30 seconds of practice can make a difference. Keep these tools close, and use them whenever you notice yourself shifting from green to yellow or red.
